We booked one of HEVEMA’s sailing yachts for a week with my group of friends for a holiday in the Ionian Sea this July and the experience exceeded all our expectations. Having already done the same trip twice in the past, I can confidently say I have plenty of experience to compare, and this time was by far the best. The yacht was in impeccable condition - air conditioning, fridge, freezer, and the bathrooms were spotless and spacious. The boat also had a generator, which meant we could make our own water and didn’t need to stop at ports frequently for supplies. The sails and all the ropes were in perfect condition. A big thank you for the outstanding hospitality, we truly wish we could come back for a second time within the same year to relive this amazing experience.

I would not recommend it! I booked a 4-day short charter from Lefkada in September via boataround. I made the first payment, made the second payment two weeks later, and then received a response from Hevema saying the boat was no longer available. I suspect a weekly charter had been requested in the meantime, and the boat had been quickly reassigned. Alternatively, I was offered another boat via boataround, from the same charter company, Hevema. I accepted, rebooked, and then suddenly received another response from Hevema, saying only a one-way charter from Lefkada to Pylos was possible, or from Lefkada to Lefkada, at a surcharge of EUR 760. This approach is outrageous and an absolute no-go. Hevema, no thanks!

The Greek charter company Hevema rents out poorly maintained sailing yachts, making the trip difficult and stressful. In the event of complaints, the defects are trivialized or denied. Hands off Hevema! Warning from skipper Karl
